Why are exhaust pops the most satisfying thing?

My alfa will do it almost continuously whenever I let off the throttle. No cat and only one resonator that’s probably rotted out from age helps a lot.

I would video it but I have no good means to do it with.

Unless someone want’s to help me duct tape my nikon to the rear of the car. And by help I mean give me enough money to buy a new one when it inevitably falls off.

Because racecar! My Yamaha bike did it constantly, had a blast one day next to a SRT Ram on the freeway, both of us giving wot then cutting to idle, with a nice “pop pop.... pop pop....pop” from each of our vehicles.

On our ‘75 FJ40 we are able to backfire the engine while shitting it off and turning it back on while driving down the street. We’ve had times that people have tailgated us until the saw a 3' flameS shooting out both sides of it. Did not come anything closer then 150' after that.

1 week into my Fiesta ownership, I got the resonator cut out. It now pops. And makes choo choo noises.

A side effect of my 5th gen’s cat slowly dying is that it’s making popping and crackling sounds when I shift. I love it and it scares off Civic bros, even 8th and 9th gens.

I’ll post up a vid this weekend of my project bike. ‘73 CL450 with the muffler cut off and a pretty aggressive tune on the carbs. Holy shit does it sound good popping on decel.
